Trash Collection

Provided by Waste Industries on Tuesday & Fridays during the summer. After Labor Day - Tuesday pick-up only.
Recycling was added in July of 2009.  In season recycling pick-up is every Friday.  After labor day recyling is picked up every other Friday.  2010 Calendar
Curbside pick-up (bulk items) available through Town Hall. Contact Town Hall at 910-328-1349.
 
  • FALL/WINTER SCHEDULE - TUESDAY PICK UP ONLY  EVERY OTHER FRIDAY FOR RECYCLING
  • SUMMER SCHEDULE - TUESDAY AND SATURDAY EVERY FRIDAY FOR RECYCLING
  • PLACE CARTS CURBSIDE NO EARLIER THAN NOON THE DAY BEFORE TRASH PICKUP.
  • COLLECTION WILL BEGIN AT 6:00 AM
  • OWNERS NEED TO REMOVE CARTS FROM ROADSIDE NO LATER THAN 10:00AM THE MORNING AFTER TRASH PICKUP.
  • A FINE OF $50.00 PER DAY HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED FOR LEAVING TRASH CARTS BY THE ROAD. The Annual Fee for trash service is $135.00 this includes one solid waste cart and one recycling cart.  This fee is paid through the Onslow County property tax bill.  This fee covers the cart and all pickups throughout the year.

       

      Trash carts must be able to close completely and we do not provide for any pick up of extra bags next to the carts or anything that is not securely enclosed in the cart. If you have overflow you must obtain a second cart or you will be fined.

       

      Trash that is placed in carts other than the ones provided by Waste Industries will NOT be picked up.

       

      The fee for additional solid waste carts is $135.00 per cart per year and $80.00 per cart per year for recycling carts.  To obtain an additional trash or recycling cart please contact Town Hall for further information.

      • Each Cart must be clearly labeled with the address (i.e., stickers, paint or stencil)

      • Waste Industries will only accept household garbage.

      PLEASE PROVIDE THE ABOVE INFORMATION TO RENTERS IF YOU HAVE A RENTAL UNIT.

       

      BULK PICKUP

      Bulk pickup will be done on Tuesday only.  You must contact Town Hall (910-328-1349) with items and a pickup slip will be written up.

      NO construction debris of any type shall be picked up and no bedding mattresses & furniture shall be picked up.

      Items that will be picked up will consist of: White Goods - refrigerators, dishwashers, water heaters, washer & dryers, stoves, microwaves. 

       

       

      VEGETATIVE DEBRIS

      Vegetative debris will be picked up two times a year with dates to be announced. ***SEE BELOW*** 

      Dumpsters are available at 3315 Gray Street for your convenience. 

      Please be advised by order of Onslow County Landfill NO PLASTIC Bags are allowed with vegetative Debris. 

      All Bagged vegetation must be in Paper Bags. Paper bags can be purchased at most home improvement stores.

       

      Vegetation Pick Up

      The Town will be picking up Vegetation debris on the following dates:

      September 28th, 29th and 30th will be from Town Hall north. 

      October 5th, 6th and 7th will be from Town Hall south.

       

      Pickup Items will only consist of tree limbs of no larger than 3 inches in diameter and 4 feet long & bushes. All types of grass, weeds, cutting and small twigs must be bagged in lawn paper type bags only, No Plastic bags will be picked up.  Debris must be placed on the right of way for pickup, please do not mix other debris with vegetation.

       

      Vegetation only dumpster located on Gray Street for your use anytime of the year. Please remember no plastic bags can go in this dumpster.  Dump your plastic bag and place bag in the front two dumpster for house hold items.

       

      Paper type Lawn bags can be purchase at Home Depot, Lowes & Village Hardware Sneads Ferry Hwy 172.
