First Annual Summer Kick-Off Race a Success

The first annual Summer Kick-Off Race was a fantastic success.  Being its first year, there was a small group of runners.  Those who ran enjoyed the route which had runners travel the roadway and the beach.  Those who chose not to run the race, but still participate, were able to walk a mile-long route which took them from the Town Park to Town Hall and back.  The weather was great for running with temperatures slowly warming as the morning went on.  The Rhodestown Duo, Kim Dicso and Holly Fucili were there to provide music and there were plenty of refreshments for the participants provided by the committee. 

A big thank you goes to Brunswick Timing Services for their professionalism. They made the race run smoothly.  Another thank you goes to the volunteers who helped make the first annual Summer Kick-off Race a big success.  It promises to be a highly anticipated annual event to get locals and visitors alike to North Topsail Beach.  Expect more fun and excitement from the North Topsail Beach Beautification and Recreation Committee.

North Topsail Beach Logo Hats and T-Shirts for Sale  

Several colors to choose from!

The Town is selling khaki and navy hats, and T-Shirts (navy, butter yellow and Carolina blue--see picture below) with embroidered logos.  The proceeds will benefit the Town's Beautification Fund.  The sale will enable the Committee to buy more plants to beautify North Topsail Beach. 

The Hats and T-Shirts are only $20.00 each (plus s&h if ordered by phone). 

The merchandise is available at the North Topsail Beach Town Hall weekdays from 8:00am to 5:00 p.m. or call Kim Weaver at 910-328-1349.

"Echoes of Topsail" by David Stallman
Sales Benefits the North Topsail Beach Beautification & Recreation Committee

David Stallman, Author of Echoes of Topsail, has agreed to work with the North Topsail Beach Beautification & Recreation Committee.  The committee will receive 40% of the proceeds from the sale of his book.  Echoes of Topsail is on sale for $24.50 and copies are available at the Town Hall at 2008 Loggerhead Court weekdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Echoes of Topsail is a story about Topsail Island, its facts, folklore, and heartbeat, voiced by its people who gave it life over the years.  Those who live here speak with reverent whisper about the magic that caught them and will not let them leave.

Mr. Stallman has spent over seven years doing research for his book.  The account of stories and personal experiences should delight the reader with a picture of Topsail Island’s origins, disasters, and developments. 

The Beautification & Recreation Committee will use the proceeds from this book to buy plantings to beautify North Topsail Beach.  Buy a book for yourself or as a present for someone who has enjoyed visiting Topsail Island or for someone who is a history buff.
