TOWN MANAGER

Seeking a qualified professional for the position of town manager. The manager will report to the mayor and a board of five aldermen. Responsibilities include supervision and management of town employees and management of the town's budget. Qualifications include a minimum of a BA or BS degree in public administration, public policy, planning, or related field (MPA preferred) with 5 or more years direct experience in municipal management, budgeting, finance and general knowledge of public administration principles and practices. Qualities include excellent oral and written communication, proven leadership and ability to create a community vision with input from all stakeholders. Salary negotiable.

BUILDING INSPECTOR
THIS POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED (12/4/2009)
Involving building inspection and plan review related to the interpretation and enforcement of State and Town regulations, rules, and codes. Applicant must have: A general knowledge of all aspects of construction, plan review, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and structural; NC Code Officials Qualification Board certification as Building Inspector II/III; valid NC driver's license. Experience with high hazard flood requirements preferred. The job requires intermediate or better experience with MS Office Suite products and ability to effectively deal with the public. Successfully pass a thorough background investigation including a credit report.
