FIREFIGHTER
The Town of North Topsail Beach is currently accepting applications for (1) full time position and (1) night shift part time position for a certified Firefighter/Driver Operator/TR Gen/VMR/NC EMT-B.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
To qualify, an applicant must have NC Firefighter II or IFSAC certified, NC Hazmat Operations or IFSAC certified, NC Driver/Operator Pumps or IFSAC certified, NC Technical Rescuer GENERAL and VMR or IFSAC certified, NC EMT-B certified, possess a high school diploma or GED, be at least 21 years of age, possess and have maintained a satisfactory driving record for the past three years.
If the driver’s license is from a state other than NC, a NC Driver’s License must be acquired with-in 30 days of hire and within 90 days of hire acquire the NC Class B driver license.
To be considered, a Town of North Topsail Beach employment application form PD107 application must be completed and forwarded to Town Hall.
Photocopies of the following documents must be included with your application or application will not be accepted.
- Birth Certificate
- High School Diploma, High School Transcript or GED Certificate
- Copy of Current Driver’s License
- Driving History – if out-of-state driver’s license include history from that state
- Certifications related to Firefighter I & II, D/O Pumps/Aerials, TR-General/VMR, Hazmat Operations, EMT-B certifications and all other related training documents.
- Minimum – Emergency Medical Technician - Basic
Failure to meet the minimum requirements and to provide copies of all of the required documentation with the application will disqualify candidates from consideration.
Starting Full Time Salary $33K to 35K with benefits
Starting Part Time Salary $15K to 16K with limited benefits

BUILDING CODES ADMINISTRATOR
The Town of North Topsail Beach is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Building Codes Administrator. The applicant will be required to process permits, inspect buildings, and enforce codes. Additional duties will include coordination of building projects initiated by the Town and to coordinate maintenance for public facilities.
Qualifications: Level III Certificates in all trades and a NC General Contractors License preferred but not required. Minimum requirements include at least Level II Certificates in all trades and a valid NC Drivers License. Salary will be negotiated depending upon experience and Certificates held by applicant.
