| Permits Permits are required prior to the commencement of any development activities in North Topsail Beach. "Development" means any man-made change to improved or unimproved real estate, including, but not limited to, buildings or other structures, mining, dredging, filling, grading, paving, excavation or drilling operations, or storage of equipment or materials. Find out what permits are required BEFORE YOU BEGIN, by contacting the Planning Department at 910-328-1349. HOW DO I APPLY FOR A BUILDING PERMIT?
Applicants for building permits – including Trade Permit - shall initially obtain all required Zoning permits, Flood permits, and CAMA permits, as applicable, from the Town of North Topsail Beach prior to submitting a request for a building permit. After Zoning Zoning permits, Flood permits, and CAMA permits are obtained at NTB Town Hall and may be submitted along with all required documentation to NTB Building Inspections. ONCE THE PERMIT IS ISSUED…
Contractors are advised to call NTB Inspections when pilings are ready to be set; then a Piling/Girder Inspection and Setback inspection will be scheduled same day. Setback Inspection will be performed by NTB Zoning Officer. Re-Inspection fees will be applied per NTB ordinance, including the ONE FREE per permit.
WHAT IF I NEED TO REVISE MY PLANS? Permit Revision will be processed according to NTB ordinance. All associated documents to support revision are required, including Flood, Zoning and CAMA. Revised Sewer/Septic documentation if additional bedrooms, home occupation or change of occupancy. NTB will charge appropriate fees associated with revision. | |
